Sales Techniques To Increase Sales
4 June 2008 8:30 am Sales TechniquesThere are many sales techniques to increase sales, but I want you to consider the opposite of what you may be doing. By doing the opposite , you will be different and you will stand out. So, let’s look at different sales techniques to increase sales.
First, think about how you are presently greeting people. Are they responding favourably to your greeting, or are you getting the same old answer? Believe it or not, a greeting is a sales technique that does lead to increased sales.
For example what do most sales people say as you walk into their retail outlet - Can I help you? What answer have you been getting 98% of the time? No thank you, I am just looking!
If that is the case try something different, to get a different answer. Get out of your comfort zone as your present sales techniques are not helping you increase sales.
What about the way you build rapport with prospects. Do you obtain their trust quickly and easily? This is one of the fundamentals of sales techniques. If you cannot get their trust you will not be able to get a sale, let alone increase sales.
To increase sales you must have the prospect’s trust. The best sales techniques relating to building rapport come from Nero linguistic programming, known as NLP. The sales techniques is referred to as mirror and matching, primarily body language. There are many other elements to learn here, but the mirror and matching sales techniques helps build rapport quickly resulting in increases sales.
The next best sales technique is to stop talking and start listening, to stop telling and start asking. When you are telling, you are selling. These sales techniques are old and no longer work to increase sales, or build relationships.
The best selling techniques relate to asking questions. When you are asking questions, you are engaging the prospect, seeking clarification and showing you are interested and your care. By listening, you are learning more, showing respect and making the prospect feel important, which in turn increases sales.
The universal needs of buyers are to feel important and to be understood. The main sales techniques to help them here is asking questions and listening. Combine these two sales techniques and you will increase sales.
The Bottom Line - Stop following dated traditional sales techniques to increase sales - it will not work. Do the opposite to selling and help customers buy, by building rapport - trust and engaging them but asking questions and listening. These are the sales techniques of today that will help you get increased sales.
