Goal Setting with Discipline, Makes Dreams A Reality.

8:30 am Personal Goal Setting

Discipline is a Commitment: An agreement or pledge to do something in the future.

With discipline, you have identified everything relating to the accomplishment of a goal. You’ve identified possible obstacles and are prepared for the “worst case scenario.” “If only ” doesn’t exist. Blaming others is a thing of the past.

Goal setting has been a discipline from the beginning.

To succeed you must discipline yourself and do what you have to do, even when you don’t want to. Are you serious about accomplishing the goals you just outlined? Are you committed to follow through?

If you are, discipline yourself and sign the pledge at the bottom of your goal log sheets.

Pledge yourself to your course of action and take on the complete responsibility to “make it happen.” There are no more excuses. This is no longer “I hope.”

This is planting your feet and doing it. You are now making the biggest commitment you will ever make — a commitment to yourself – the most important discipline of them all!

Do you make New Year’s Resolutions? Do you manage to stick to them? If so, congratulations! You must be disciplined. You are part of a small and exceptional group. Most people give up within two to three weeks.

Of all commitments, the ones you make to yourself are the most important to respect. If you can’t keep a commitment to yourself, you can’t succeed - you are not disciplined.

To commit to something is to take a risk. That is a discipline within itself. You must loosen your hold on what you are certain of, and reach for the unknown that you believe is better than what you have.

It’s natural to be afraid when you take a risk. You are venturing into the unknown. But if you don’t take risk you will live a life without growth. You will have to give up something in order to move ahead, but avoiding risks is the surest way of losing. You must discipline yourself accordingly.

You can succeed if your willingness to leap overpowers your concern about what could happen if you fail. Avoid the regret of looking back on a life of opportunities not taken. Take the chance and commit to accomplishing your dreams. You must be disciplined.

You are making a commitment to yourself to follow through on the action plans you outlined in the previous discipline. Go back and review them. Are your actions broken down into achievable steps? Did you give yourself enough time to accomplish each step? Have you set yourself up for success? If not, make the necessary adjustments, and be disciplined. I want you to succeed!

Be aware of your daily progress, because success breeds success. Discipline yourself and do whatever you have to do for at least the next 21 to 30 days, no matter what. Get yourself into a good habit – be disciplined.

If you are ready to commit now, sign your action plans and discipline yourself to action. Don’t ever look back.

The Bottom line: Discipline is the key – discipline is a commitment to the most important person in the world. It means doing what you have to do, even when you don’t want to do it.
